Josie’s history as a competitive gymnast sparked her interest in nutrition as well as an eagerness to instill peace and confidence in others’ experiences with food and body. Josie completed her bachelor’s degree in Family Consumer Sciences with Texas State University followed by her Master’s degree and internship program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. During her Master’s and internship program, Josie sought a variety of experiences that incorporated evidenced based nutrition with a HAES (Health at Every Size) and Intuitive Eating lens to expand her knowledge on how to combat diet culture misinformation. After graduating, Josie gained valuable experience in a higher level of care treatment setting for eating disorder recovery which furthered her expertise and counseling skills with a diverse population.
Josie strives to help others build a sustainable relationship with food, movement, and body image through a non-diet approach. As a sincere, compassionate provider, she will foster a welcoming environment to address any and all concerns regarding your goals. While Josie enjoys working with a variety of nutrition concerns, she is most passionate about helping sow the seeds of empowerment, ownership, and confidence in one’s decisions regarding nutrition.
